The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, His Eminence Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola De-Damak, has expressed deep sadness over the death of the former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Alhaji Waheed Olajide.
In a condolence statement issued through his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Faysol Oluwakemi, the Aare Musulumi described the deceased as a dignified public servant, devoted Muslim and man of integrity who served Oyo State with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.
Alhaji Akinola said the late Waheed Olajide made meaningful contributions to the administration and development of Oyo State during his years in public service, describing his death as a painful loss to his family, the Muslim community, Oyo State and all those who knew him.
According to him, the late former SSG's life was characterised by responsibility, humility, devotion to his faith and commitment to the service of humanity.
A Life of Service and Integrity
The Aare Musulumi noted that Alhaji Waheed Olajide's years in public service left behind a legacy worthy of remembrance, particularly his commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to him.
He commiserated with the deceased's immediate family, relatives, friends, associates and the people of Oyo State, praying that Allah grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
Alhaji Akinola also prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
He urged the bereaved family to draw comfort from the worthy legacy left behind by Alhaji Waheed Olajide and the positive impact of his years of service to Oyo State.
May Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and grant his family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
