A water project being established as Sadaqah Jariyah in memory of the late Nigerian actor, Alhaji Babatunde Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has received ₦5.3 million in donations following a remarkable response from members of the public.

The initiative, organised by Muslims Nigeria in memory of the late actor, initially raised ₦5.038 million within just one day after the donation appeal was launched.

According to the organisers, additional contributions continued to come in even after the official closure of the fundraising exercise, bringing the total amount raised to an impressive ₦5.3 million.

The organisers expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed financially, shared the appeal, offered prayers, encouraged the initiative or supported it in any way.

They also appealed to members of the public not to make any further donations, stressing that the fundraising drive has officially closed.

Transparency Promised

The organisers clarified that the water project is a community initiative by Muslims Nigeria and not a fundraising request from the family of the late Alhaji Taiwo Hassan.

They further assured contributors and members of the public that every stage of the project would be documented and made available to the public.

According to the organisers, the documentation will cover the process from planning through execution and completion of the water project.

Sadaqah Jariyah in Ogogo's Memory

The initiative is intended to serve as Sadaqah Jariyah, a continuous charitable deed dedicated to the memory of the late actor.

The organisers prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the contributions from everyone who participated, make the water project a source of continuous reward for Alhaji Taiwo Hassan and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.

The overwhelming response to the initiative, they noted, has demonstrated a remarkable sense of unity, generosity and love among members of the community.

They expressed gratitude to all contributors and supporters, praying that Allah rewards every person who played a role in bringing the project to reality.

May Allah accept it from everyone who contributed and make it a lasting source of benefit and reward. Ameen.
