IBADAN – The Ibadan Vanguard Sisters, an affiliate club of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), celebrated its 8th anniversary with a series of humanitarian activities, reaffirming its commitment to community service and the welfare of the less privileged.
Speaking during the anniversary celebration, the club's former President, Chief Mrs. Barrister Monsurat Ayo Alaga, Ajia Iyalode of Ibadanland, said the association has remained committed to putting smiles on the faces of the needy through various charitable interventions.
She disclosed that, as part of the anniversary activities, members settled the medical bills of indigent patients at a hospital and also visited a correctional centre, where they donated toiletries and other essential items to inmates.
In further demonstration of its commitment to youth empowerment, the club donated a sewing machine to the Kola Daisi Entrepreneurship Centre, a free vocational training centre established by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) under the leadership of its President-General, Chief Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole. The donation was presented by the current President of the club, Mrs. Bade Suara Oluwatoyin.
The event was attended by notable members of the association, including Dr. Mrs. Monsurat Oluwatoyin Oyebola, Mrs. Tinu Agbajelola, and several other members of the Ibadan Vanguard Sisters.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the centre, the Chairman of the Kola Daisi Entrepreneurship Centre Committee, Dr. Kola Lawal, expressed appreciation to the club for its generosity and commitment to skills acquisition. He noted that the sewing machine would further strengthen the centre's mission of empowering young people with vocational skills for self-reliance.
Other members of the Kola Daisi Entrepreneurship Centre Committee present at the event included Mr. Bayo Muieez, Chief Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ibikunle -Omotosho, Alhaja Olabisi Folarin, and Feyisetan Hamzat (Benny)
, who joined in appreciating the Ibadan Vanguard Sisters for supporting the centre's vision.
Also speaking, the President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole, commended the Ibadan Vanguard Sisters for consistently complementing the Council's developmental efforts through impactful community service and philanthropic initiatives.
He prayed for greater accomplishments, sustained unity, and continued prosperity for the club, urging its members to remain steadfast in their commitment to humanitarian service.
The celebration once again underscored the club's dedication to compassion, empowerment, and the development of Ibadanland through meaningful interventions that continue to positively impact lives.
