President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced major breakthroughs in the nation’s ongoing security operations, confirming the rescue
of abducted citizens in both Kwara and Niger States.
In a statement released on Sunday, the President recalled that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee and coordinate security efforts across the country.
According to him, all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, have been rescued following intensified operations by security forces. He also disclosed that 51 of the students abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State have been safely recovered.
President Tinubu noted that he has been receiving continuous briefings from service chiefs and frontline operatives, assuring Nigerians that his administration remains fully committed to restoring order and protecting citizens.
The President reaffirmed his stance that every Nigerian, regardless of location, deserves safety and peace of mind, adding that he “will not relent” in the effort to secure all parts of the country.
The statement underscores the Federal Government’s renewed focus on rapid response and coordinated action as security agencies continue operations in the affected regions.
