The Governor of the Agbekoya Farmers’ Society of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, Chief Ashagidigbi Olatunde Bello, has congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the entire people of Oyo State on the commissioning of the newly completed Ibadan Central Bus Terminals 1 and 2.

Speaking in a telephone interview with Benny News Hub, Chief Ashagidigbi described the project as “a forward-looking initiative that will ease mobility, boost commerce, and modernize the transport system in the state capital.”

He commended Governor Makinde’s commitment to developing modern infrastructure that enhances daily living, describing the bus terminals as “symbols of order, comfort, and progress for the people of Ibadan.”

> “We are proud of this achievement. The terminals will make transportation more organized and dignified for commuters. It’s a sign that our state is moving forward,”

he said.

However, the Agbekoya leader urged the state government to channel similar energy into the agricultural sector, noting that food security remains the bedrock of sustainable development.

> “We must remember that a hungry population cannot fully enjoy modern buses or good roads. Oyo State must make food security a priority,”

he advised.

Chief Ashagidigbi further highlighted four key pillars of the Agbekoya vision: food security, cultural preservation, protection of farmlands, and promotion of traditional medicine.

He emphasized that the Agbekoya Farmers’ Society is willing to partner with the government to advance these causes for the benefit of the people.

> “Our farmers are peaceful, resilient and ready to work with government for growth. We believe that through partnership, we can empower our people and preserve our cultural identity,”

he added.

The Ibadan Central Bus Terminals 1 and 2 were commissioned earlier this week by former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR), who commended Governor Makinde for his vision to build a modern, world-class transport system for Oyo State.
