Family, 3SC Community to Host Colloquium in Honour of Baba Eleran’s 20th Remembrance Anniversary



The family of the late devoted supporter of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Pa Ganiyu Olayiwola Elekuru — widely known as Baba Eleran — in partnership with the management of 3SC, the Supporters Club, friends, and well-wishers, will commemorate the 20th anniversary of his passing with a special remembrance event.


According to Prince Jubril Arowolo Are, former Media Officer of the Oluyole Warriors, the anniversary activities will include prayers and a commemorative lecture. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 1st November 2025, at the residence of the club’s pioneer Supporters Club Chairman — Agbole Adelakun Awa Compound, Elekuru House, opposite Oja’ba Central Mosque, Ibadan.


Prince Arowolo Are acknowledged the immense contribution of Baba Eleran, stating that his unwavering support for Shooting Stars remains unmatched:


> “Pa Elekuru was more than a supporter — he was a pillar of strength and passion for 3SC. His legacy continues to inspire the spirit of loyalty that defines this great club.”




For more than five decades, Alhaji Ganiyu Elekuru dedicated his life to the club, investing his personal resources into supporting 3SC. His family recalls that his commitment to the team often came at significant personal sacrifice:


> “Our father loved Shooting Stars deeply and prioritised the club above all else,” one of his children shared.




Baba Eleran passed away at the age of 77 on 1st November 2005, but his profound influence on the culture and spirit of Shooting Stars continues to live on in the hearts of fans and supporters.


The event is expected to bring together community members and football enthusiasts to celebrate a legacy built on love, loyalty, and lifelong dedication to the beautiful game.
