Tension now grips Abuja and Bayelsa State following a major military operation at the residence of former Bayelsa State Governor and ex-Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.
According to multiple sources, a special team of the Nigerian Army conducted a raid at Sylva’s home in the Maitama area of Abuja as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged coup plot.

Sources contacted by SaharaReporters disclosed that the operation targeted Sylva’s residence after intelligence pointed to his involvement in secret meetings with military officers currently held by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).
His younger brother reportedly identified as “Paga” was arrested during the raid, and operatives later extended the exercise to Sylva’s home in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
