The Governor of the Agbekoya Farmers’ Society of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, Chief Ashagidigbi Olatunde Bello, has been formally accepted into Ile Ogun, Oja’ba, Ibadan, after fulfilling all necessary rites and documentation.
The confirmation followed the submission of official documents, including the certificate of confirmation and letters duly signed by the President-General, Aare Aremu Kamorudeen Okikiola, and the Secretary-General, Dr. Adegbenro Ogunlana.
Ile Ogun serves as the umbrella body for traditional and socio-cultural defence groups across Yorubaland — including the Warlords Association, Agbekoya Farmers’ Society, Itesiwaju Agbekoya, Agbekoya Warriors, OPC, Soludero Group, and others. Each organisation is represented by not more than three delegates, with a shared commitment to unity, cultural preservation, and the defence of Yoruba and Nigeria’s sovereignty.
In his remarks, Chief Ashagidigbi emphasized the importance of protecting farmers and farmlands from external invasions to ensure food security and agricultural abundance. He reiterated Agbekoya’s commitment to peace, productivity, and the protection of rural communities.
Among his entourage were Chief Fasakin Ajibola Akere, the Deputy Governor; Prince Fokolaja, National Intelligence Officer; and Olori Odo, alongside other dignitaries of the Society.
The induction marks a symbolic reinforcement of Agbekoya’s role as both a cultural and security-conscious body, working to safeguard the people, their land, and their livelihoods.
