The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has held its Back-to-School Programme at Bode Amoo Hall, Ibadan House, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, as part of its efforts to support education and promote the welfare of indigenous students.
The programme was chaired by the President-General of CCII, Chief Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole, and attracted students from schools across the 11 local government areas of Ibadan.
Among the participating schools were United Senior Secondary School and IMG, Agodi Gate, alongside other schools represented by their students and teachers.
The initiative was designed to provide educational support to Ibadan indigenes as they prepare for and continue their academic activities. Beneficiaries received support in the form of textbooks, exercise books and transportation assistance to ease some of the financial challenges associated with schooling.
The programme also provided an opportunity for CCII to recognise and appreciate teachers for their contributions to the education and development of young people.
Through the initiative, the council reaffirmed its commitment to community development and investment in the future of Ibadanland, with education remaining a key avenue for empowering the next generation.
The Back-to-School Programme reflects CCII’s continued engagement with the community and its efforts to encourage students to pursue their education with renewed confidence and determination.
