YOGA Global Mourns Pioneer Yejide Student, Mrs Yemisi Adesina

The Yejide Old Girls Association, popularly known as YOGA Global, has mourned the passing of Mrs Yemisi Adesina, née Oshikoya, one of the pioneer students of Yejide Girls’ Grammar School.

Mrs Adesina belonged to the 1956–1961 class, one of the earliest cohorts in the history of the institution.

Her passing comes at a particularly poignant time for the Yejide Old Girls community, which recently came together to celebrate the school's 70th anniversary, an occasion that brought together generations of old students and celebrated the institution's enduring legacy.

The anniversary celebration was sponsored by YOGA Global under the leadership of its National President, Mrs Moji Giwa-Osagie.

For an alumna who belonged to Yejide's earliest generation, Mrs Adesina's passing represents the loss of another link to the formative years of an institution that has produced generations of women who have gone on to make their mark in different spheres of life.

Announcing her death, the family expressed gratitude to God for her life and submitted to His will.

“With gratitude and total submission to God Almighty for a life well lived, we announce the passing of our elderly one, Mrs Yemisi Adesina, née Oshikoya.”

The announcement identified her as a member of the Pioneer Class, 1956–1961.

Her death is expected to be felt across the YOGA Global family, particularly among those who shared the historic early years of Yejide Girls’ Grammar School and those who had the opportunity to celebrate her and other members of that generation during the school's 70th anniversary.

As YOGA Global continues to preserve the history and legacy of Yejide, the passing of Mrs Adesina is a reminder of the women whose lives are woven into the story of the institution from its earliest years.

Benny News Hub commiserates with the family of Mrs Yemisi Adesina and the entire YOGA Global family on the loss.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.
