The United Kingdom chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC UK) has inaugurated its 2027 Campaign Council as part of efforts to strengthen diaspora mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The newly inaugurated council is expected to coordinate the party’s campaign activities in the United Kingdom and mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, as well as other APC candidates across Nigeria.
Olumuyiwa Adesua was inaugurated as the Director-General of the APC UK 2027 Campaign Council, while Feyisayo Ajayi was appointed Secretary.
The council is expected to focus on strategic mobilisation, engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora, campaign coordination and grassroots support, while working with APC structures and stakeholders in Nigeria.
Speaking after his inauguration, Adesua described his new role as a responsibility to serve the party, its members and the people.
He pledged that the campaign council would work from the commencement of its activities through the 2027 election to mobilise support for Tinubu and other APC candidates.
The APC UK leadership expressed confidence in the new council and said its inauguration marked an important step in preparations for the 2027 elections.
The remaining positions and responsibilities within the council are expected to be determined at a subsequent meeting.
The development comes as political parties and their support groups intensify preparations and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
